“4 Powerful Reasons to Rejoice at Easter and Always”

Why we should rejoice at Easter and always!

Easter is the day on which Christians remember and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We rejoice in our risen Savior! There is so much to celebrate about what Jesus did for each of us over 2000 years ago, but there are four powerful reasons we want to highlight today.

“4 Powerful Reasons to Rejoice at Easter and Always”

 1.Victory –

Death is swallowed up in victory. “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” 1 Corinthians 15:55-57. We rejoice always because what we could not do for ourselves, Jesus did for us. He defeated the grave and took on our sin and shame. In Christ, we can stand innocent before a Holy God therefore able to live eternally. Death is not the end for those who believe.

2. Freedom –

The ransom for your sin has been bought and paid for by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The freedom Jesus offers is not only forgiveness for your sin, but freedom from sin. You are no longer enslaved to sin. The innate knowing that we are guilty of sin leaves us feeling miserable and desperate to be better. In our human state we keep trying to do better only failing. It’s a vicious cycle that can only be broken by the grace that Jesus poured out on us. True freedom comes when a Christian realizes there is absolutely nothing they can do to be good enough to stand before a Holy God. Even in our goodness, we are not worthy. True freedom can only be found when we except that the work has already been done for us.

3. Direction –

Jesus tells John that it is to our benefit that He goes away. “If I don’t go away, the advocate won’t come. If I do go away, I will send Him to you.” John 16-7. The advocate is the Holy Spirit which gives us power in our lives while here on earth. The Holy Spirit works in believers by renewing our minds to be more like Christ. He guides us and gently convicts us of sin leading us to repentance. As we begin to listen to the Holy Spirit and seek guidance, He will pull us away from things we have in our lives that don’t please God and direct us to what God wants for us. The Holy spirit directs us into all truth and gives us power in our daily lives.

4. Peace –

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. This is such a wonderful promise from God. The believer who places all confidence in a loving God, and is thankful in every circumstance, will have a super-natural peace. The peace that comes from being in a right relationship with God, is not the peace of the world. The world’s peace depends on having favorable circumstances. If things are going well, then we tend to be at peace. When things go wrong, we go awry. The peace quickly disappears. The faithful person will know peace and stay grounded in it even during the trials of this life. To most, it will be a mystery how someone can stay so calm and serene amid turmoil. The peace that can only come from our Lord is a reason to rejoice today and always!

Because of the death and resurrection of Christ, we can rejoice today and always. No matter what is happening in our lives at this moment, there is hope in the future. For believers, the best is always yet to come. We can walk victoriously even amid crises. We are free from sin and the shame and guilt it causes. God gives us direction through the Holy Spirit that resides in us. We can rest in the peace that can only come from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hallelujah, He is risen! Rejoice!
