Sarah was long past the age of having children. So she laughed silently to herself and said, “How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master—my husband—is also so old?” Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby? Is anything too hard for the Lord?
Genesis 18: 12-15
There are so many amazing stories in the bible just like this one of Sarah when God spoke a seemingly impossible purpose to someone. Noah was to build an ark to save mankind from becoming extinct, Moses wrote the ten commandments, the virgin Mary, who would birth Jesus, who himself would be the savior of the world. There are even more than this, these are just a few. Is anything too hard for God?
Nothing has changed from long ago. God still speaks to us and tells us our purpose. It’s simply most of the time, like Abraham and Sarah, we laugh. We either can’t fathom the possibility of something so big, or maybe we feel like it’s too small and silly. Either way, we must stop laughing at God and listen to Him when He tells us who we are and what we are supposed to be doing.
What has God said to you? Instead of laughing or brushing Him off, there is a much better way to respond. Here are 4 ways to respond when God speaks to you.
1) Believe Him – Believe that what He speaks to you, no matter how massive the task or how silly it seems, open your heart to believe that whatever God speaks to you, He can and will accomplish. Remember what God Himself said, “Is anything too hard for God?”
2) Take it Seriously – Your purpose is a serious matter. You were created and born to accomplish certain things while on earth, and it is beyond important that you are successful. I think of a friend, who God has spoke to her that one day she will have the means and not have to work but be able to volunteer at a hospital to rock babies and sit with sick children whose parents aren’t able to be with them. Wow, what a dream! Right now, that seems impossible to her because she must work a full-time job and even a part-time gig on some weekends to make ends meet. It is not necessary for her to know exactly how it’s going to happen, but it is necessary that she take it seriously! Imagine the difference she will make in the lives of these babies, children, and their parents! Whatever God speaks to you, take it seriously.
2) Trust – Trust that God is God, and He will do what he says. In fact, He will do even more for those who trust and have faith. He says, “with the faith of a mustard seed, you can say to a mountain to move, and it will move. Wow! Trust that God created you with a purpose in mind and that He will do above and beyond everything He says. There are very few things or people you can fully trust, but you CAN trust your father in heaven!
3) Start now – Don’t wait. The time is now to start. Start where you are and start with what you have. If you keep waiting for the perfect time, you will never take off. There simply is not a perfect time. You must kill the excuses. I’m too busy, I’m too tired, I don’t have the money, someone else is already doing it, I’m not ready, I’m scared, or what will people think? The excuses can go on and on and next thing you know, you’re time is out. You don’t know how many days you have left. Stop living with the idea that you will start tomorrow. Tomorrow is not here yet. All you have is today, and today is the day to start. The time is now!
So what will you decide? Will you stop laughing at God when He speaks those crazy big ideas to you? Will you believe Him, take Him seriously, trust Him, and start now? Most people live their entire lives without standing up and stepping out. But it’s exciting to know, that’s not going to be you. You were born for success and you are doing it!

First I enjoyed very much the 7th annual 2021 Motivational and Leadership Conference. I had no idea the effect
it would have on me! after a time watching the conf., seeing my pic in the square, I got where my eyes started burning and I couldn’t look at myself, so video was turned off, but I watched both incredible speakers, didn’t feel God saying anything to me at that time. after Father Dom. spoke I complained to myself my eyes were still burning and I
had to leave. Wasn’t until this morning Sunday around 5am I went out to my driveway which is 3 times as long as my neighbor’s across the street I was shoveling wet heavy snow, it suddenly hit me, at the conf. I was thinking “I’m scared and what would people think, and I couldn’t get the chat to work for me, and thought of the speakers, and started crying my eyes out, thinking Kurt wouldn’t be able to do this, Jamie and Father Dom were in my mind and so I went across the street and shoveled my neighbors drive, the wet heavy snow did not feel as heavy as when I did my driveway. God was telling me get my eyes off me and put them where i may receive GRIT. THANK YOU GOD! Terry Your Servant
